RSA Watch Oxford: Free screening – 4 talks on Inequality and Social Mobility

Every quarter, I host an evening of screenings of recent talks given to the Royal Society for the Arts (RSA). The evening consists of a series of screenings and discussion around the themes, supported by free wine and nibbles! We call this ‘social watching’.

Known as “RSA Watch Oxford”, the next of these is on Monday 24th April 2017 from 18:30 to 21:00 at City of Oxford College, Oxford and is on the theme of Inequality and Social Mobility.

Inequality and how to address it has been an important theme of the work of the RSA and one that many speakers have explored over recent years. At this event, we’ll be watching talks given by an extraordinary ‘virtual panel’, who each have an inspiring and very different perspective on this increasingly serious issue:

  • Prof. Angus Deaton (Nobel Prize Winner)
  • Prof. Danny Dorling (University of Oxford)
  • Prof. Robert Putnam (Harvard University)
  • Dr Helen Pearson (Chief Magazine Editor, Nature)

At January’s RSA Watch Oxford, Fellows were keen to consider ways in which we could engage with the theme. Join us to discuss what action we can take to address inequality and social mobility, and how we might be able to make a significant impact in this area.

Drinks and light refreshments will be available. Come along for an evening of inspiring talks, informed discussion, and convivial company.

The event is free to attend, but please do book your place so we know that you’re coming:Β https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/32463737914?ref=ebtn

I hope to see you there.

Best wishes

Graham Wilson
